On this day in 1923, the foundations of the Republic of Turkey were set starting a progressive, secular and modern parliamentary democracy. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Turkish soldier, nationalist leader, and statesman was its first president. Today as we celebrate the 87th anniversary of this historical day, Turkey continue to follow Ataturk’s vision of Modern Turkey.
